Generic Viagra has quickly become one of the top selling erectile dysfunction drugs, and one of the most popular medications in general. Sildenafil Citrate, the active ingredient in this medicine, has proven to be successful in the vast majority of impotence cases. Like any other Sildenafil-made drug such as Kamagra Jelly, generic Viagra relieves the symptoms of ED by increasing the flow of blood into the male sexual organ, rendering the penis able to sexually perform in a satisfying manner. This drug is effective for up to four hours.

The mechanism of action of generic Viagra comes down to inhibiting an enzyme known as PDE-5, which constricts the blood vessels that transport blood into the penis. By blocking the action of PDE-5, Sildenafil Citrate relaxes the blood vessels, allowing enough blood to flow for the penis to become erected. Keep in mind though, that sexual stimulation is essential for Sildenafil Citrate to take effect. This drug should not be taken in combination with other erectile dysfunction treatments, nor should it be ingested in higher doses than recommended, since this could bring about undesired side effects.

Despite, or because of, the fact that generic Viagra is made with the same ingredient as the brand name product, it also has pretty much the same side effects (which may include dizziness, headaches and flushing, among others), contraindications and interactions. Some factors to take into consideration include being aware that Sildenafil Citrate is only indicated for use in adult males with ED. Also, alcohol intake and high fat meals should be avoided before and after administration, since they may delay or stop the drug’s effects. Nitrates and alpha blockers may have a negative interaction with Sildenafil, consult your doctor if you are on treatment with either. Sildenafil Citrate should not be taken more than once every 24 hours.
